Activities of the Department of
Economics 2015 – 2016
On July 6sth 2015
we have arranged a Guest Lecture for B.A students of economics on
“Globalisation - Impact on Indian
Economy”. The resource person is Dr.
S.Subbalakshmi ,Senior Faculty , Sri Medha Institutions.
On 22nd September,
2015 we have arranged a Guest Lecture for
B.A students of economics on “MAKE IN INDIA”. The resource person is Dr.D. Paparao garu .
On 19th & 20th
August 2015 , with a view to educate the students in various dimensions the
department has organized a ‘Leadership Training Camp for college students in
collaboration with M.R. Pai foundation , Mumbai.
On 29th September 2015 Jointly
with Forum Of Free Enterprise, Mumbai , the Department of Economics has
conducted The 51st A.D.
Shroff Memorial Elocution Competition .
On 9th
December 2016 students of IIIBA visited KCP Cement .Macerla and Nagarjuna sagar
dam. which was financially supported by UGC.
INPUT OF THE TOUR
Industry
visits sensitize students to the practical challenges that organizations face
in the business world. Industrial visits also give greater clarity about
various management concepts for students as they can practically see how these
concepts are put into action.
Visits
to manufacturing firms are useful for students. to understand the nuances and
realities of the shopfloor, which in itself is a rare exposure. By visiting the
shop floor they get to understand the risky conditions in which workers work,
the people management challenges involved in managing workers apart from
getting hands-on technical knowledge.
Industrial visit has its own importance in a
career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree. It is considered as
a part of college curriculum.
Objectives of industrial visit
- To provide students an insight regarding internal working of companies.
- Theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career.
- With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit provides student a practical perspective on the world of work.
- It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices.
- It gives them exposure to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at college.
- Industrial visits provide an excellent opportunity to interact with industries and know more about industrial environment.
- Industrial visits are arranged by colleges to students with an objective of providing students functional opportunity in different sector.
- Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge.
- Industrial realities are opened to the students through industrial visits.

Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Orissa. We also export cement to
Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Myanmar.
A
Greenfield plant setup in 2011 is one of India’s most modern, highly automated,
cost efficient and Eco Friendly plant with an annual capacity 1.86 m tons
expandable to 3 m tons.
The plant is also enhanced
with Captive Power Generation of about 20 MW (Thermal & Solar).

The visit generally consists of lectures about the
industry, the site being visited and a
range of topics specific to learning outcomes.

4. Understood the concept of cement usage, generation of
electricity.
5. Understood how does the product of the
power plant is interfaced to the world.
6. Various Landmarks project in India like
Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, Sri Sailam Dam and Prakasam Barrage, Godavari Railroad
Bridge in Andhra Pradesh are constructed by KCP.

The Department of economics Organised an Inter Collegiate Competitions on
22 - 1 -2016 . Conducted ELOCUTION , ESSAY WRITING , QUIZ , POSTER MAKING AND PAPER PRESENTATIONS competitions to college students.
