The Department has
organized a guest lecture on Indian Economy- Planning – Niti Aayog to all B.A.
Students. Resource Person was Dr. C. Srinivasa Rao, Government Degree College,
Pamarru.
World
Population Day
“WORLD POPULATION DAY”
was observed on11th July 2018 by the department of Economics. On this day the
department conducted Drawing and
Painting Competitions to the Girl students of
X standard in and around Vijayawada on Population explosion. And
Elocution Competitions were conducted to Degree and Intermediate Students with
themes Children by Choice Not By Chance, Small Family Happy Family, Gender
Population Issues. Prizes were given to winners.
A.D .Shroff Memorial Elocution Competition
On 18.08.2018jointly
with forum of free enterprise Mumbai,
the department has conducted 54th
A.D Shroff memorial Elocution competition for BA students.

World Literacy Day
The department has arranged an awareness camp on literacy by celebrating world literacy day on 6th
September 2018.
Chief guest for the programme is Dr. Chukka
Kondaiah, OSD, AP Skill Development Corporation, Govt of Andhra Pradesh.
BA students portrayed a skit on
the importance of literate family.
Elocution, Essay writing and
Poster Making Competitions were conducted to Inter, Degree and PG Students on
the topics Girl Child Education, Beti Bachao and
Beti Padhao, Literacy and Skill Development.
On
10.9.2018 the Department organized a Five-Day Training Camp to NSS P.Os on YOUTH & DEVELOPMENT jointly with
Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth and Development. The Chief Guest of the Program is Prof. A.
Chandra Mohan, Registrar, RGNIYD in the inaugural session. Certificates
were issued by Chief Guest of the Validictory Session Prof. S. Rama Krishna
Rao, Vice-chancellor, Krishna University.
