INDUSTRIAL TOUR OF ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT
   Industrial visits sensitize students to the practical challenges that organizations face in the business world. Industrial visits also give greater clarity about various management concepts for students as they can practically see how these concepts are put into action.
       Visits to manufacturing firms are useful for students. to understand the nuances and realities of the shop floor, which in itself is a rare exposure. By visiting the shop floor they get to understand the risky conditions in which workers work, the people management challenges involved in managing workers  a part from getting hands-on technical knowledge.
Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree. It is considered as a part of college curriculum.
Objectives of industrial visit :
To provide students, an insight regarding internal working of companies.
 Theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career.
With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit provides student a practical perspective on the world of work.
It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices.
 It gives them exposure to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at college.
 Industrial visits provide an excellent opportunity to interact with industries and know more about industrial environment.
 Industrial visits are arranged by colleges to students with an objective of providing students functional opportunity in different sector.
 Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge.
Industrial realities are opened to the students through industrial visits.



2015-16
9th Dec, 2015:
Students of III B.A., EM, TM are taken to a field trip to KCP Industry, Macherla and Nagarjuna Sagar Dam.  This trip helped students
-          To enhance their personal skills
-          This trip is an afford to bridge the gap of theoretical concepts that are explained in class room and the practical exposure.

KCP AT MACHERLA AND NAGARJUNA SAGAR DAM
                 KCP’s Cement Business is over 60+ years with manufacturing plants in Macherla & Mukthyala in the state Andhra Pradesh with captive supply of high grade limestone and producing a combined annual capacity of 2.2 million tons of the finest quality premium grade cement in India.
  • Proven record for over 60+ years as one of the India’s oldest producer of High Grade Cement.
  • Various Landmarks project in India like Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, Sri Sailam Dam and Prakasam Barrage, Godavari Railroad Bridge in Andhra Pradesh.

  • Primarily used in building foundations structures like Columns, Beams, Slab and other concrete structures and hence popularly called Concrete Cement.

             A Greenfield plant setup in 2011 is one of India’s most modern, highly automated, cost efficient and Eco Friendly plant with an annual capacity 1.86 m tons expandable to 3 m tons.
               The plant is also enhanced with Captive Power Generation of about 20 MW (Thermal & Solar).

range of topics specific to learning outcomes.

5. Understood how does the product of the power plant is interfaced to the world.

2016 – 17 INDUSTRIAL VISIT
On 2nd March, 2017 students of IIIBA visited Alankriti Lace Park situated in Narsapur, West Godavari District.
LACE PARK, NARASAPUR, WEST GODAVARI DISTRICT:
When India is under the British Colonial Rule, the British selected this coastal belt for Trade and Commerce and they established this skill based lace industry for the empowerment of women.  Later it was transformed into one of the world’s famous lace park ‘ALANKRITI’ in the year 2000.  It is an Irish Art which is providing livelihood initiating from 20,000 to 2,00,000 women.  They  are also providing health insurance to the employees and their family members.  The world famous products from this lace industry are table mats, floor mats diwan sets, door curtains, tops, lace cardigans, lace short sleeve tops, lace long skirts, kurtas, shrugs, hand bags,  stoles and all varieties of kids wear which are being exported to Swedan and other foreign countries especially during summer. The raw material is supplied from Pali, Rajasthan.  Threads are available in Tanuku. It is the best established Women’s Self Help Group providing empowerment and employability to rural women. 
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The visit generally consists of lectures about the industry given by Mr. Nagabhushanam Naidu, the Project Director, Handicrafts, Alankriti Lace Park, Narasapur.  The learning outcomes from his lecture, which our students observed in the industry are -

1. Recognized the process units in lace industry
2. Identified input and output for the process.
3. Experienced the importance of working safety.
4. Understood the concept of lace preparation, generation of output.
5. Understood how does the product interfaced to the world through exports
6. It was extended to Krishna and East Godavari Districts also.

2017-18 INDUSTRIAL TOUR OF ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT
All the final year students taken to industrial tour on 10 January, 2018  to coca-cola company Atmakur, Guntur Dt.
COCA –COLA COMPANY:: MANGALAGIRI.
Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. is one of India’s largest FMCG manufacturing and distribution companies. It is responsible for the manufacture, package, sale and distribution of beverages under the trademarks of The Coca-Cola Company. The Company owns and operates 21 factories. It also sources from and supports 11 contract packers’ plants. A network of 4,000 distributors and over 1.9 million retail outlets distribute the high quality, great tasting beverages manufactured by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages.
HCCBPL services the market through a number of strategically located manufacturing units spread across the length and breadth of the country.

Each of the ir plants are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to produce your favourite beverage consistently, day in and day out throughout the year passing through rigorous standards of quality.

The process of manufacture includes key components like extensive treatment of the raw water, preparation of the syrup, the container preparation process, filling, inspection, coding and filling the bottles into cases.

The finished product is then dispatched to the warehouse before it departs on to its final destination – the consumer through a network of depots, distributors and retailers. The waste water is processed through an elaborate waste water processing system to ensure the output water conforms to the world class standards.
