The department has conducted a guest lecture on planing to nitiayog for degree and P.Gstudents on 30th june 2018 by Mr C.Srinivasa rao from Government Degree College Pamarru
The Department has observed World Population Day on 11th July, 2018. On this occassion Elocution, Drawing and Painting, Quiz competitions were conducted for School and College Students to bring awareness among the students about the chronic problem of population explosion and measures to control growth rate of population.

Students from various schools in and around Vijayawada participated in the program.
